Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and strategic Culture and Retention Specialist to help build and sustain a strong, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture across our healthcare and nursing home facilities. This role will focus on enhancing employee engagement, strengthening team culture, and improving retention efforts in a mission-driven, highly regulated, and emotionally complex environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Culture & Engagement Development: Foster a culture of empathy, purpose, and accountability aligned with person-centered care.Support initiatives that promote psychological safety, inclusion, and community across all care sites.Collaborate with leadership and frontline staff to reinforce organizational values in daily operations.
  • Retention Strategy & Implementation: Design and implement employee retention strategies that address the unique challenges of long-term care and healthcare staffing.Monitor turnover trends and exit data to inform continuous improvement efforts.Coordinate stay interviews, recognition programs, and career growth opportunities to enhance employee satisfaction.
  • Employee Experience & Wellness: Drive programs that promote caregiver wellness, mental health support, and work-life balance.Partner with HR and Operations to ensure smooth and supportive onboarding and offboarding experiences.Advocate for team member feedback mechanisms and act as a voice for frontline staff in organizational planning.
  • Compliance & Policy Support: Ensure engagement and retention efforts align with healthcare labor laws, union dynamics (if applicable), and regulatory requirements.Support HR teams in maintaining ethical and inclusive workplace practices.
  • Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging: Collaborate on DEIB initiatives that reflect the diverse communities we serve.Help embed equity and cultural awareness into daily workplace interactions and communications.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in employee engagement, retention, or HR roles within healthcare, senior care, or related industries.Familiarity with healthcare staffing challenges and regulatory environments.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; approachable and empathetic style.
  • Proven ability to lead culture-building initiatives across multiple sites or teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
  • Certifications in employee engagement, HR, or wellness (e.g., SHRM-CP, Engagement Practitioner) are a plus.
