Surfpoint Recovery is a state-of-the-art facility for treating substance use disorders (SUD) located in Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY. We hold OASAS licensing and are recognized as a CARF-certified Center of Excellence. Our center provides comprehensive inpatient detoxification, withdrawal management, stabilization services, and rehabilitation for individuals facing substance use challenges. The Assistant Director, Clinical Services partners with the Clinical Director and Program Director to deliver individual therapy, develop treatment plans, manage cases, advocate for clients, provide counseling, and engage in crisis intervention.
Schedule: Friday through Tuesday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Core Responsibilities:
- Work together with the Clinical Director and Program Director to plan, implement, and evaluate various services and programs.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director, Program Director, and counselors to establish the continuum of care for participants in the program.
- Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the counseling staff.
- Ensure counseling staff are adequately trained in the curriculum provided to clients.
- Supervise the assessment process for all newly admitted patients and assist in scheduling their treatment activities, assigning caseloads, and monitoring clinician performance.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and Clinical Director to review all clinical documentation, conducting quality assurance and improvement assessments to ensure timely record-keeping.
- Conduct routine chart reviews to verify compliance with governing agency regulations and ensure timely documentation.
- Attend meetings organized by the Clinical Director and Program Director, engaging in discussions aimed at enhancing and expanding programs while providing recommendations.
- Aid in monitoring quality assurance and improvement initiatives and suggest corrective actions to the Clinical Director and Program Director.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations concerning family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services in the inpatient treatment setting.
- Provide both individual and group counseling and participate in case conferences.
- Conduct individual supervision sessions with counseling staff.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required.
- Licensed as a Qualified Health Professional (QHP) in New York State (e.g., CASAC, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, LCAT, or other relevant certifications).
- Preferably 5 years of experience in a related setting.
- Experience providing direct supervision to clinical staff is preferred.
