Surfpoint Recovery is a state-of-the-art treatment facility for substance use disorders (SUD) situated in Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY. Our center is licensed by OASAS and holds CARF certification as a Center of Excellence. Surfpoint Recovery provides inpatient detoxification, withdrawal, stabilization services, and rehabilitation programs for individuals struggling with substance use disorders. The Associate Clinical Director works closely with the Clinical Director and Program Director to deliver individual therapy, develop treatment plans, manage cases, advocate for clients, offer counseling, and provide crisis intervention.
Schedule: Friday to Tuesday, from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director and Program Director to plan, develop, implement, and assess services, programs, and activities.
- Partner with the Clinical Director, Program Director, and counselors to determine the continuum of care for program participants.
- Assist in overseeing the counseling staff's daily operations.
- Ensure that counseling staff are properly trained in the curriculum being used with clients.
- Supervise the assessment of all newly admitted patients, oversee clinical staff in scheduling treatment activities, assign caseloads, and monitor clinicians' performance.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and Clinical Director to review all clinical documentation (treatment progress, plans, and care coordination) and conduct regular quality assurance and improvement evaluations to ensure timely record-keeping.
- Perform regular chart reviews to verify that appropriate documentation is completed promptly and in compliance with governing agency regulations.
- Attend meetings organized by the Clinical Director and Program Director, contributing to discussions on revising, enhancing, and expanding current programs while offering recommendations.
- Assist in monitoring quality assurance, quality improvement, and utilization review efforts, providing recommendations to the Clinical Director and Program Director for corrective actions.
- Ensure that provider operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services in the inpatient treatment community.
- Offer individual and group counseling and participate in case conferences.
- Conduct individual supervision sessions with counseling staff.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required.
- Licensed as a Qualified Health Professional (QHP) in New York State (e.g., CASAC, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, LCAT, or other relevant NYS licensure/certification).
- Preferred 5 years of experience in a similar environment.
- Experience in providing one-on-one supervision for clinical staff is preferred.
